Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The rand strengthened versus the dollar, reversing an earlier 0.5 percent decline. South Africa’s currency traded 0.2 percent stronger at 7.5275 by 12:48 p.m. in Johannesburg, from a close of 7.5461 yesterday. Earlier it traded as weak as 7.5862, the worst level since Nov. 27.
