Dec. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Lionel Messi beat holder Cristiano Ronaldo by a record margin to become the sixth Barcelona player to win soccer’s Ballon d’Or. Messi gained 473 points from a possible 480 in the annual poll of journalists organized by magazine France Football , more than double the total achieved by Ronaldo of Real Madrid, who had 233 points.
