Joseph "Joe" Harold Howard Jr., 63, of Hoffman, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at his home. Joe was born July 1, 1946, in Danville, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces with two tours in Vietnam. He received three Purple Hearts and many other decorations and medals. He retired in 1986, with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Harold Howard.
