Pending favorable weather and ventilation conditions and approval from ADEQ, Coconino National Forest fire managers are planning burns on the following projects for today:
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIF. — Firefighters have fully surrounded a 145-acre wildfire in southern Orange County. Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown says the fire was 100 percent contained by 6 p.m. Wednesday.
A 245-acre wildfire in coastal mountains of Southern California was 75 percent contained Tuesday, Orange County authorities said. No homes were threatened.
Crews are aided by cooler temperatures and higher humidity. Full containment of the blaze, which has burned about 145 acres of heavy brush, is expected Wednesday, officials say.
