Toronto: Michael J. Fox to Voice Titular Dog in Family Comedy ‘A.R.C.H.I.E’
Michael J. Fox has come on board to voice a robotic dog in the upcoming independent family comedy “A.R.C.H.I.E.”
Double Dutch International will launch sales at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Robin Dunne is directing from his own script in his feature-film directorial debut. The film is produced by Shayne Putzlocher, Glenn Paradis and Sara Shaak from Trilight Entertainment, and financed by Clairwood Capital.
Katharine Isabelle (“American Mary”) will play a world-renowned roboticist who has created Archie to look like a normal dog while having super strength, X-ray vision and the ability to talk. While her research program is being shut down by the military, Isabelle’s character helps Archie escape in the hopes of finding a family to care for him — and he winds up in a small town, where he becomes befriends a woman whose uncle is the mayor.
“From the voice of ‘Stuart Little,’ to the hit TV show ‘Family Ties,’ to the blockbuster movie franchise ‘Back to the Future,’ Michael J. Fox is synonymous with globally successful family entertainment,” said DDI’s Jason Moring.
The deal was structured by UTA, Putzlocher and Moring.
