Torso found in trash in Montreal was a male, suspect ID possible today

MONTREAL - Montreal police say they have been able to determine that a human torso found stuffed in a suitcase was that of a male.

Const. Simon Delorme says it will take an autopsy to make an identification of the decomposing torso that was found Tuesday in an alley.

Delorme adds that police may be able to identify a suspect in the case as early as today.

Police have been combing through garbage and inquiring into whether there might be a link to a more high-profile body part discovery Tuesday.

They were also contacting colleagues in Ottawa — where a foot was found in a suspicious package mailed to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Another body part _ said to be a hand _ was later discovered in a postal plant.
