Travel Channel Ups Brian Leonard to VP of Programming and Development
The Travel Channel has promoted Brian Leonard to VP of programming and development, the network announced Monday.
Since coming on board in 2011, Leonard has worked as exec producer on many of the Travel Channel’s top series, including “Breaking Borders,” “Hotel Impossible,” “Man Finds Food” and “Time Traveling With Brian Unger.”
“Brian is a great storyteller, producer and team leader,” said Travel Channel’s senior VP of programming and development Ross Babbit in a statement. “He oversees production on a variety of original programming with dedication, reliability and a commitment to high quality. With his roll-up-your-sleeves style, he will be a great resource for the team and also help Travel Channel achieve our overall goal of owning the travel category, while attracting an upscale audience to our expanding slate of new original programming.”
Leonard’s pre-Travel Channel credits include serving as showrunner for History’s “Modern Marvels” series, creating and producing the Military Channel’s “Battlefield Diaries” and writing, directing and producing the Emmy-winning Discovery Channel documentary “Vietnam POWs: Stories of Survival.”
