Trident Systems is introducing the newest member of its Cross-Domain Secure Collaboration Solutions at the UCDMO conference in August. Cross-Domain Voice over Internet Protocol (CD VoIP) provides a way for US & coalition forces to make and receive person to person and conference calls between differently-classified security enclaves.

Cross-domain collaboration solutions, designed to allow military users to work together across networks at different levels of security, are being deployed throughout the world in support of current military operations. “The key to Trident’s approach is to leverage both VoIP infrastructure and existing cross-domain guards, like Radiant Mercury or ISSE Guard,” noted Scott Thomas, Trident’s senior product line manager for cross-domain collaboration. “At UCDMO, we’ve been fortunate to work with SafeNet’s MDeX System as our guarding solution. Integration was so straightforward that our engineering team was making phone calls within a few hours.”
While cross-domain guards have been in use for almost 20 years, their use as enablers for person-to-person collaboration is relatively new. According to Mike Casey, Trident’s Assured Collaboration Solutions director, “These solutions represent the next wave in time-critical collaboration; in Afghanistan, or in [Japanese humanitarian mission] Operation Tomodachi, our forces need to share quickly – virtually in real-time – with an international, multi-domain, dynamic community. The ability to immediately pick up the phone and establish a conference call between US Intelligence Community personnel, military staffs, non-governmental organizations – it will be a huge force multiplier. And leveraging the power of advanced cross-domain solutions like the MDeX System offer the promise of making such collaboration effective in even the most complex operations.”
