    The Tryall Club Scores A Hole in One With new Director of Golf: Ewan Peebles

    The Tryall Club is pleased to announce that Ewan Peebles joins the Tryall golf program.

    Nelson Long, Club pro for the past 28 years, will continues as Seasonal PGA Professional.

    “We feel very lucky to have Nelson and Ewan on board,” says managing director Jerry Giarla. “Tryall is providing two world-class golf professionals to serve our active and growing golf community.”

    Mr. Peebles will be responsible for Tryall’s overall golf operations, including budget oversight, programs and golf course maintenance. He’ll work closely with Mr. Long, organizing golfing activities, overseeing tournaments, and providing members and guests with hands-on lessons and support.

    Nelson Long helped develop the club’s golf program into a world-class operation that has hosted the Johnny Walker World Championship for five years, in addition to the Mazda Champions and the Shell Wonderful World of Golf. Long was named the 1999 PGA Metropolitan Section player of the year and the 2005 Horton Smith award winner for contributions to the PGA in education. Most recently, he was the 2011 winner of the Bill Strausbaugh award for community service and mentoring of PGA Professionals.

    Peebles, a native of Scotland, has a rich and deep golf experience, and for the past four years was Director of Golf in the Caribbean at Half Moon, Montego Bay. A graduate of Edinburgh University, he is a PGA Professional and has lived in Jamaica for eight years. He is an accomplished administrator, teacher, and player, having competed extensively in Europe and the Caribbean, where he won the Tryall Pro Am last year with an even par score. Ewan will take up residence at Tryall and begin his new position on November 1, 2011.

    Tryall Club is the Caribbean’s premiere luxury resort, located on the lush northern coast of Jamaica, 12 miles west of Montego Bay. The Club features 87 sumptuous private villas, (one to eight bedrooms) each uniquely designed and equipped with its own personal chef and private swimming pool.
