Tuesday Ratings: ‘Voice’ Finale Drops, ‘MasterChef Jr.’ Hits High

The finale of NBC’s “The Voice” ruled the roost on Tuesday but the clincher of the fall edition was down 20% in adults 18-49 from last year to the lowest marks for a “Voice” finale to date.

Fox’s “MasterChef Jr.” (pictured) hit a series high number with its 8 p.m. finale seg. ABC’s second airing this month of the holiday chestnut “A Charlie Brown Christmas” put up respectable demo numbers, topping NBC’s “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas.”

CBS’ “NCIS” led the 8 p.m. hour as usual with the largest audience of the night, 17.2 million viewers and the second-highest 18-49 demo number (2.3 rating/7 share) of the night behind the two-hour “Voice” (3.2/10, 12.7 mil).

NBC noted the 9-11 p.m. “Voice” delivered the highest 18-49 number of any network (excluding Fox’s World Series coverage) since Sept. 30.

“MasterChef Jr.” (1.7/6, 5.5 mil) hit a series high with its second-season finale. That’s good news for Fox as the show is returning in just a few weeks for its third edition. “Charlie Brown Christmas” (1.7/6, 6.3 mil) was the fave among holiday specials for the night.

At 10 p.m., CBS’ “Person of Interest” (1.3/4, 8.8 mil) felt the pinch of “Voice” competition on NBC. CW was wall-to-wall reruns with “The Flash” and an encore of CBS’ telecast of “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.”

Nightly averages, 18-49: NBC (2.6/8) CBS (1.8/6), ABC (1.2/4), Fox (1.2/4), CW (0.5/1).

Nightly averages, total viewers: CBS (13.3 mil), NBC (10.1 mil), ABC (4.4 mil), Fox (3.7 mil), CW (1.5 mil).
