Turstworthy iPhone 6s report says no to sapphire glass, yes to ‘pink’ option
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus leaks keep pouring in, with more and more unofficial details being offered surrounding Apple’s upcoming smartphones with less than two weeks to go to the 2015 fall iPhone event – Apple has already issued press invites for the iPhone launch, which will be its biggest yet in terms of attendance.
After detailing the camera specs for the iPhone 6s and the new Motion wallpapers, 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman followed up with a new report that explains Apple’s glass display choices for the new handsets, the color options and Force Touch.

Apple reportedly considered using sapphire glass for the iPhone’s screens, but ultimately decided to stick with ionized protective glass for both handsets, which it calls Ion-X glass, the report says.
As for the color, 9to5Mac’s sources said the iPhone 6s family of devices will be available in a version of pink called Rose Gold that will match the Apple Watch.
Unlike the Apple Watch, the iPhone’s Rose Gold shell isn’t actually made of gold. Instead, the iPhone has a copper-like pink paint applied on the back that will be paired with white front glass that’s also found on the standard gold iPhone 6.
Finally, 9to5Mac again said the new iPhones will have Force Touch functionality, adding that the technology might have a different marketing name on the handset. Apple uses the same term to describe pressure-sensitive screen and touchpad technology that’s available on the Apple Watch and select MacBooks.
