TV News Roundup: ‘Girl Meets World’ Renewed for Season 3 & More

RENEWALS:

Disney Channel has given a third season to “Girl Meets World,” sending the stars of the follow-up to the beloved ABC series “Boy Meets World” into the untested waters of high school, reports The Wrap. The new season will premiere in the spring.

PREMIERE DATES:

The Mark and Jay Duplass series Animals will premiere at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 5 on HBO. Described as an animated adult comedy, the series is created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano and is produced by Duplass Brothers Television. Set in New York City, characters include lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons and aging bedbugs in the midst of midlife crises. It was previously announced that HBO will premiere the second season of the Duplass brothers’ relationship comedy “Togetherness” on Feb. 21.

PERFORMANCES:

“The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani will perform her new song “Used to Love You” on the Nov. 30 episode of the NBC reality competition series. The following night, musician Sia will perform “Alive,” the first single from her upcoming album, “This Is Acting.”

RELEASES:

Hulu has made the first two episodes of its new Jason Reitman-produced comedy series Casual available for free on YouTube and on the show’s Facebook page. The series, which recently received a season two renewal, is created by Zander Lehmann, and stars Michaela Watkins and Tommy Dewey. The first season’s finale airs Dec. 2 on Hulu.
