NBC's aggressive summer slate continued to roll out on Tuesday night with the premiere of Food Fighters. Ordered to series more than 16 months ago, the culinary competition averaged a fairly soft 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers when it finally hit the air. That said, the series did grow significantly between its first and second half-hours.>> PHOTOS 22 Celebrity-Owned Restaurants: The Hits and Misses>> The host of Food Fighters, Travel Channel's Adam Richman, recently suffered a bit a P.R. problem when his comments from a colorful (i.e. nasty) argument in his Instagram feed drew media attention &mdash and prompted Travel to delay the premiere of his latest cable series, Man Finds Food.>> After the series 8 p.m. premiere, a new America's Got Talent (2.4 adults) easily topped the night &mdash though it did shed two-tenths of a point from its last original.>> Competition was relatively nonexistent for NBC. The only other broadcast network airing originals for the night, ABC, had a steady Extreme Weight Loss (0.9 adults) and a depleted outing of Celebrity Wife Swap (0.8 adults). The series was off three-tenths of a point from last week.
