Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey denies timeline changes (sort of), talks #RIPTwitter

All the hashtag angst and insider commentary regarding Twitter's potential timeline changes finally came to a head on Saturday, forcing the company's CEO, Jack Dorsey to finally weigh in on the matter.

Directly addressing the #RIPTwitter hashtag that has been trending worldwide for the last 24 hours, Dorsey did his best to tamp down the concerns from some users that their timelines would soon be displayed by algorithms rather than in reverse chronological order.

"Hello Twitter! Regarding ‪#RIPTwitter: I want you all to know we're always listening," wrote Dorsey at the beginning of a rare tweetstorm. "We never planned to reorder timelines next week."

Well, that puts a rest to all that. Except, notice that he added no changes were planned for "next week," instead of "ever." That wording alone indicates that users should still be on the watch for changes in the near future. 

Nevertheless, Dorsey continued his Twitter message designed to calm user concerns.

And with that, Dorsey quickly switched back to his normal Twitter mode: posting Beyoncé videos and Golden State Warriors shout outs. 

Twitter has had a rough time of late, with a group of top level executives exiting the company suddenly, continued chatter that Twitter's future may be in peril when it comes to user growth and revenue and a recent staff meeting to boost morale. 

Regardless, whether you believe Dorsey or not, at the very least, angry users can't accuse this tech CEO of hiding from the critics.
