'Two and a Half Men' Creator Thinks TV's Hit 'Peak Vagina'
We totally understand that Whitney is dying a slow death and Are You There Chelsea? needs to be put out of its misery, but that doesn't make Two and a Half Men's co-creator Lee Aronsohn's sexist jokes about television's current crop of female comedies very funny. "Enough ladies. I get it. You have periods ... we’re approaching peak vagina on television, the point of labia saturation," Aronsohn said according to The Hollywood Reporter's Etan Vlessing when asked about the rise of female comedies on network television.

Mind you this is coming from creator of a show that's parlayed jokes about boobs, bouncing boobs, more boobs and a Charlie Sheen meltdown into what's about to be ten interminable seasons on CBS. And it should be mentioned that some of these female comedy shows, like Two Broke Girls, are the brainchild (or half the brainchild) of men.

That said, while Aronson's hacky, bro-tastic jokes (periods? low hanging fruit much?) fall pretty flat, we were tickled with his explanation of how, at the end of the day, Two and a Half Men is really all about men being emotionally damaged (not boobs, you hear?). Per THR's Vlessing:
The current female TV boom contrasts with Two and a Half Men mostly portraying women as bimbos, something Aronsohn isn't about to apologize for.
“Screw it… We're centering the show on two very damaged men. What makes men damaged? Sorry, it’s women. I never got my heart broken by a man,” Aronsohn earlier told the Toronto conference during a keynote address.
Sorry, ladies: He's taken!
