    New Laser Is More Accurate and Can Be Tailored for Precise Performance

The improved laser is the first in Dallas and allows the next generation of advanced customization to suit specific physician parameters and patient needs.

    The Allegretto FS 200 KHz creates very smooth corneal flaps in the first step of the LASIK procedure and assists in recovery with lower pulse energy to improve visual recovery. In addition, during surgery, the Allegretto FS 200 KHz will help increase patient comfort with a unique dual suction ring design that has an integrated adjustability and safety features.

    The Allegretto FS 200 KHz laser is the world’s fastest Femtosecond laser. When the first IntraLASIK system was approved by the FDA in 2002 it took approximately 76 seconds for the laser to create a corneal flap. The Allegretto FS 200 KHz uses 200,000 microscopic pulses per second at a very low energy level and can create a corneal flap in approximately 6 seconds.

    The Allegretto FS 200 KHz laser is the first Femtosecond laser in use with a Balance Beam Control Check, which calibrates each individual patient’s interface (the part that touches the patient’s eye) before each procedure. This allows creation of corneal flaps with the highest precision and consistency.
