The CW has announced that it's picked up Tyra Banks' occult drama America's Next Top Model for a mind-melting 20th season, to air next summer. So, OK, ho hum, more weird spells cast by Tyra Banks and her strange army of silvery gays. Been there done that. Except! Aha! There's a twist: This season, for the first time ever, there will be male model contestants competing with the girls! That's crazytown. Whole new game. Things are gonna get real. And by "real" we mean OMG maybe there will be another Bronnie situation. That would be lovely. Please, dear Tyra sorceress. Make that happen. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Now that his personal life is all patched up, English sex vampyr Robert Pattinson is getting back to work. He's just signed on to play a supporting role in a movie called Hold On To Me, a based-on-a-true-story drama about a woman (Carey Mulligan) and her boyfriend who kidnap the town's richest man and then everything goes to hell. Pattinson will not be playing the boyfriend, but rather some other guy. Don't worry though, the role is described as "flashy." Anyway, this sounds like a perfectly fine idea. Good to keep working and all that, especially when it's with someone like Carey Mulligan. And the director did Man On Wire, so he knows what he's doing. Smart thinking, Pattinson! He should book as many post-Twilight roles as he can now, before people figure out that, um, well, he's not the greatest of actors. Of course he will get better! But, y'know, still... Anyway. Some TV executive has once again slipped into England and made off with a TV show, boarding a boat at St. Ives in the still of the night and sailing like mad for American shores. The latest program is the BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey, which Fox plans to turn into some dumb American show. This one is about a couple navigating a long-distance relationship (at least in the beginning), so hopefully there will be lots of video chat jokes? I don't know. I've never seen the British version, to be honest, so maybe it has terrible video chat jokes too. It doesn't look like that's the case, but who knows. The point is, who will play Gavin and Stacey? Probably that Brett Harrison dude and, I dunno, some pretty girl with a musical theater background. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Encouraging news: Paramount has shown a preview real of its troubled World War Z, the Brad Pitt zombie plague movie, and people were impressed. That's nice to hear! But with the light comes the dark. Here's some discouraging news: "fast-moving zombies that operate like swarms of fire ants, making it possible for them to scale a wall, en masse in seconds, and overwhelm everything in their path." Um, no. Those are not the shambling creepers that inhabit the book. Fast-moving zombies have worked before — in the Dawn of the Dead remake and the 28 Days/Weeks movies in particular — but they don't really work for this story. The ghouls being slow is central to the whole, like, feel of the book. I mean, climbing up walls? Like ants? Those aren't zombies. Those are... giant ants. So if that's changed, what else could be changed? [Deadline]

NBC's adventure drama Revolution had a little rebound in the ratings last night after sinking over the past few weeks. The jam-packed episode earned 8.8 million viewers and a 3.4 rating, which is pretty decent. It's nowhere near those crazy amazing Walking Dead numbers from Sunday, but it's still a beacon of hope. Despite its pretty cheesy premise, it's actually not a bad show, that Revolution, so it's nice to hear that it might be sticking around a while. After all, we have to find out what happens with the thing and why the other thing happened. OK, so the mythology isn't all that exciting, but there's plenty of action and stuff, so we keep watching. So here is a minute-long teaser trailer for the egregiously unnecessary Carrie remake. We don't really see much of anything, except for a bloody Chloe Grace Moretz at the very end. And any reminder that Chloe Grace Moretz is playing Carrie in this movie is not a good thing. Guys, Chloe Grace Moretz is playing Carrie White in a movie. Ugh. UGH. Ugh. Oh well. Enjoy.
