    Uber Will Deliver You Ice Cream Friday

    This Friday you can not only order a ride with -- you can order ice cream too.

    The on-demand private driver service is offering on-demand ice cream trucks for one day only on Friday, allowing users to order an ice cream party for five any time between noon and 6 p.m.

    To place your order, simply launch the app during the specified time frame, select the ice cream cone icon on the screen, and request a truck come to your location. Trucks are expected to arrive with 10 minutes (although you’ll be given an ETA at the time of your order and be able to communicate with the driver) and will be equipped with frozen treats as well as Uber swag.

    Trucks will be available in Boston, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington D.C.

    Twelve dollars will get you a visit from the truck and ice cream for five. Additional bundles can be purchased on-site when the truck arrives. Uber is working with a number of local trucks in each location, so treats will vary depending on what city you live in and what truck happens to head your way.

    In May, Uber celebrated Cuatro De Mayo (May 5 fell on a Saturday) in San Francisco by . Over the course of five hours, the groups performed a total of 42 back-to-back performances and delivered margarita mix and piñatas to excited customers ranging from a school groups to a man surprising his girlfriend. After each mini-fiesta completed, Uber says another was typically requested in 10 seconds or less.
