LONDON (AP) — He's making it a very social network. Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague says he will meet with five of his followers on Twitter to discuss global issues and give them a tour of his ministry.
Hague, also an avid user of Facebook, said Friday that he would meet with a group at London's Foreign Office next month.
In a message posted to his Twitter account, Hague asked followers to send their thoughts on British foreign policy priorities and global affairs. He'll use those responses to pick who will be invited for talks.
Often seen as serious in person, Hague is an engaging figure online and known to trade messages and jokes with fellow foreign ministers.
The foreign ministry confirmed those selected to meet Hague may be subject to security checks.
