Im really confused with all of this. When I went to grade school in the 80s my parents had to provide-birth certificate and immunization records, along with SS# and address. Are these items not required anymore? What IS required these days?

The government should be cracking down on the illegal immgrants. I don't mind new people coming to our country to take advantage of all the US has to offer, but DO IT THE RIGHT WAY!

I just got my vehicle registration renewal notice today and I live in AL, effective Sep 29th we have to provide proof of citizenship to renew our vehicles, I can do that, so I don't have a problem with it!!

they should leave this law in place, and then we will actually see how much of a burden undocumented people are on this country. we can take the results from Alabama's law to be able to shape future immigration law.

Ron Paul has the right ideas reguarding the federal government and states rights.

If they ask students for immigration status ... they will be able to count them...

Hello I'm a Lawful Permanent Resident and born in Mexico City.
Me and my family waited for more than 10 years to be in this country legally and I don't think its right for me or any legal residents that illegal immigrants(mexicans,guatemalans,salvadorans,hondurans,costa ricans,panamanians,peruvians,colombians,venezuelans,ecuadorians,chilenians,brazilinans,bolivians,paraguayans,uruguayans,argentinians and the rest of the world) cross the border, brake the law and ask for papers.

States are now left holding the bag after many years of the Lawyer infested Federal Government allowing this whole #$%$ mess we are in now. And we all know how well this is going, don't we. SAM you ain't my uncle. Stick your nose back up Wall Streets butt. Roll Tide

A lot of Americans want the government to enforce the immigration laws that are on the books now, and it refuses to do so, and has started interfering with states rights when they try to protect themselves. I think the government WANTS a new civil war or revolutionary war, that's the only thing that makes sense to me. Why else would they disobey the American People?

Whydoesn't the Federal Government spend its time investigation Holder and the administration instead of butting in on a State issue. They have the right to enforce Federal Law when the fed won't.

Who the hell cares what other countries think of our immigration policies???? We have the most lax immigration policy in the world. Anyone can come here and stay and they're not going to get booted out. No matter if they committ felonies or what!!!! The federal government needs to stay out of states laws and deal with what the federal government was elected to do!!!

BTW,If this affects diplomatic relations with other countries,who cares?Most just have their hand out anyway.We are not in a financial position to support them anymore.Let them do it themselves,although after years of Uncle Stupid supporting them,they may have forgotten how.

i just wanted to make sure i had a firm grasp on the "situation"!

The federal government needs to get out of states rights and go back to DC and stay there.
