USA Baseball Announces National High School Invitational Field

College Park (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) will take part in this year's NHSI.

USA Baseball has announced the field for the 2015 National High School Invitational and once again the tournament features 16 of the top teams in the country.

The event, which is in its fourth year, is scheduled to take place in Cary, N.C. from March 25 to 28. The event is sponsored by USA Baseball and Baseball America.

Although defending champion The First Academy (Orlando) will not participate in this year's tournament, Florida will have three teams in the tournament: St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), Mosley (Lynn Haven) and Trinity Prep (Winter Park).

California has four teams in the event, three of them from Orange County. San Clemente, JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) and Huntington Beach will all play in the tournament along with College Park (Pleasant Hill).

Georgia state champion Lambert (Suwanee) will participate this year along with Whitewater (Fayetteville). Mississippi has its first entrant in DeSoto Central (Southaven) while Class 4A state champion Puyallup is the first school to represent the state of Washington. Perennial Tennessee state champion Farragut (Knoxville) will participate along with defending Texas Class 3A state champion College Station.

Other teams selected to play include Loyalsock Township. (Williamsport, Pa.) and Horizon (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Leesville Road (Raleigh, N.C.) will act as the tournament host.
