USA Sets Summer Premiere Dates for Suits, the Christian Slater-Starring Mr. Robot, and More
USA has announced summer premiere dates for returning shows including Suits, Royal Pains, and Graceland, as well as new dramas Mr. Robot and Complications.
Royal Pains kicks off Season 7 on Tuesday, June 2 at 10pm, after the Season 3 premiere of Chrisley Knows Best at 9pm.
Complications, a new thriller from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, will bow with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, June 18 at 9pm and 10pm. The show will continue to air in the 9pm timeslot beginning the following week.
Suits returns for its fifth season on Wednesday, June 24 at 9pm, followed by the series premiere of Mr. Robot, a hacker drama starring Christian Slater, at 10pm.
Graceland's third season debuts Thursday, June 25 at 10pm.
Playing House's second season gets underway on Tuesday, August 4 at 10pm. As previously announced, every new episode of Playing House will debut one week early via video on-demand platforms.
USA also announced that it has committed to two pilots from the Chrisley family: a late-night talk show pilot hosted by Todd Chrisley and a spin-off pilot following various Chrisley family members as they enter new life chapters. "Fans can't get enough of the Chrisleys, and we're excited to give viewers an even bigger dose of this entertaining, unpredictable, and lovable family," Jackie de Crinis, USA's executive vice president of original programming, said in a statement. "Giving Todd an opportunity to bring his unique voice and unfiltered personality to late night is an opportunity we didn't want to miss."
Also in the USA development pipeline are new drama projects from Charlize Theron, Rob Reiner, and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, as well as an untitled unscripted series from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Get details on the potential new series below:
Starchitects: Directed and executive-produced by Catherine Hardwicke, Starchitects is a serialized workplace drama that follows a talented young architect on the rise at a top firm in Los Angeles.
The Tap: The Tap is set at Yale University in 1969 and tells the story of Jay Butler, a student who is simultaneously being recruited by the Skull and Bones secret society and the CIA. Rob Reiner is executive-producing and directing.
Mythos: Charlize Theron is executive-producing this serialized adventure in which commonly believed myths are discovered to actually be guarded truths that have been hidden by members of two opposing groups—each of which has a different plan for the fate of humanity. The main character, Nate Brigman, is an ordinary man who gets caught up in the conspiracy after his wife mysteriously disappears.
Swamplandia!: Based on the best-selling novel by Karen Russell, this offbeat drama centers on the Bigtree family, who owns Florida's top alligator-wrestling theme park and are coping with a recent tragedy.
Amped: Based on characters created for an upcoming comic book by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, the series follows a neurotic family man who buys a "smart pill" online and is surprised to discover that it also gives him incredible physical strength.
Paradise Pictures: Written by Rick Muirragui (Suits), Paradise Pictures is about ambitious people trying to make it big in Hollywood in the 1940s.
AWOL: AWOL chronicles the experience of an ex-military operative who has trouble adjusting to the real world after returning from duty, and finds solace in the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles.
Cooley & The Tank: This project goes behind-the-scenes of a fictional early '80s detective drama and explores the tension between its two feuding stars.
Mile High: Mile High follows two best friends, a Wall Street broker and a struggling entrepreneur, who team up to explore business opportunities in Colorado related to the recent legalization of pot.
The Recessionistas: A limited series based on the book by Alexandra Lebenthal, which follows a group of Manhattan women and their Wall Street husbands in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
