Va. packaging maker to add 100 jobs, expand

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Packaging manufacturer Phoenix Packaging Operations LLC in southwest Virginia is adding 100 jobs.

Phoenix Packaging is also investing $20 million to expand its Pulaski County operations. The economic development news was announced Friday by Gov. Bob McDonnell.

Phoenix Packaging is a subsidiary of Grupo Phoenix. It makes rigid plastic packaging for customers in the U.S.

McDonnell said the Pulaski County plant was the first U.S. operation for the Latin American company. He says Phoenix has created nearly 500 jobs in Pulaski County and the region.
