    Vatterott College To Add Medical Assistant Occupational Specialist Program at Joplin Campus

    Vatterott College is adding a Medical Assistant Occupational Specialist program to its Joplin and Springfield, Missouri campuses and its Cleveland, Ohio campus offerings.

    Vatterott College is adding a Medical Assistant Occupational Specialist program to its Joplin and Springfield, Missouri campuses and its Cleveland, Ohio campus offerings. The new programs are scheduled to begin in February and March at the respective campuses and will provide graduates with the necessary skills to obtain employment in the medical field.

    According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), opportunities for job seekers who studied health care support occupations are projected to add 1.2 million jobs by 2018, growing the fastest among the service sub-groups. Seven out of eight new jobs are expected to be in the health care and social assistance sector.

    “Our Medical Assistant Occupational Specialist Program was created with these considerations in mind,” said Jeremy Mather, campus director of Vatterott College in Joplin. “The program is designed to prepare students for a successful career in the growing healthcare field.”

    Students receive medical assistant training in many essential aspects of the occupation including clinical duties, medical law and ethics, pharmacology and medical office procedures. Vatterott College provides practical hands-on-training, career service assistance and offers financial aid for those who qualify. Day and evening classes are available to accommodate students’ busy schedules.
