Delays on I-64 in Chesapeake due to vehicle fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Motorists experienced some delays on I-64 in Chesapeake Wednesday afternoon, near Shell Road, because of a vehicle fire.

The west and right shoulder near at mile marker 296 were closed while crews worked to clear the scene.

A viewer sent the following image to WAVY, and said it was taken around 2:15 p.m. The vehicle, which appears to be a truck, was engulfed in flames, with black smoke emitting from it.

There is no word if anyone was injured because of the fire.
