Vehicle fire spreads to home on Westover Drive in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Fire Marshal is working to learn what sparked a vehicle fire that spread to a home on Wednesday morning.

Around 2:37 a.m. on Feb. 14, the Danville Fire Department was called to a home in the 2000 block of Westover Drive. Firefighters said upon arrival, they found a vehicle under the carport in flames, with fire spreading to the attic.

Firefighters quickly contained the vehicle fire but battled the blaze in the attic for several hours.

The fire department confirmed that all occupants safely escaped the house and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

There are no reported injuries, at this time.
