A free lunch and tribute follow at the National Guard Armory at Gold Country Fairground, 1273 High St.Carmichael: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – A color guard ceremony is at 11 a.m. at La Sierra High School Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Earl J. Koobs Nature Area, 5325 Engle Road.Elk Grove: 10 a.m. – A ceremony with posting of colors and reading of names is held at Cosumnes Community Services District, 8820 Elk Grove Blvd. A flyover with a North American aviation T-6 Texan is scheduled for 10:55 a.m. A parade begins at 11 a.m. at the community services district building and concludes at Elk Grove Regional Park, 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Road. A celebration follows at the park with free food and drinks provided by local service groups.Placerville: 11 a.m. – The Friends of El Dorado County Veterans Monument hosts the seventh annual Veterans Day ceremony featuring a presenting of colors and a fly-by T-6 aircraft at El Dorado County Veterans Monument, 360 Fair Lane. Two granite benches will be dedicated. One bench is in honor of Marine Staff Sgt. Sky Mote, who died in August while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. The second bench is dedicated to all those who served in the Korean War.Rancho Cordova: 10 a.m. – The seventh annual Veterans Day commemoration with speakers, music and placing of wreaths is at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza, Sacramento VA Medical Center, 10535 Hospital Way, Mather. A pre-program begins at 9:30 a.m.Roseville: 2-5 p.m. – Skate-town Ice Arena is offering free skating to military veterans and active-duty military at 1009 Orlando Ave. Sacramento: 7 a.m. – A flag-raising ceremony by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 67, 2784 Stockton Blvd.10 a.m. – A veterans parade is at Capitol Mall, between Third and Ninth streets. A ceremony follows at Sixth Street and Capitol Mall.10 a.m.-4 p.m. – California State Military Museum presents a special outdoor display and offers free admission at 1119 Second St., Old Sacramento.11 a.m. – A special tribute and ceremony is at the Aerospace Museum of California's Memorial Plaza, 3200 Freedom Park Drive, McClellan.MondayCitrus Heights: 11 a.m. – An observance including music and speakers presented by the American Legion Citrus Heights Post 637 is at Citrus Heights Sylvan Cemetery's gazebo, 7401 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights. Procession of veterans begins at 10:30 a.m.Folsom: 9 a.m. – The 12th annual veterans parade begins in front of Target/Home Goods, at East Bidwell Street and Blue Ravine Road. The parade continues on East Bidwell to Coloma and Natoma streets and concludes at the Veterans Memorial near City Hall, 50 Natoma St. The event includes a fly-over with T-38 Talon jets from Beale Air Force Base.Rocklin: 8 a.m. – A ceremony featuring Gen. David O'Brien is at William Jessup University, 333 Sunset Blvd., Rocklin. Roseville: 11 a.m. – A ceremony at Roseville Veterans Memorial Hall, 110 Park Drive. Lunch is served following the ceremony.Roseville: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Skatetown Ice Arena is offering free skating to military veterans and active duty military at 1009 Orlando Ave. Sacramento: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – The Sacramento Zoo offers a 50 percent discount to military, veterans and their families at 3930 W.
