GULFPORT, Miss. -- My home in Gulfport--about 250 yards from the meandering bayous here--is susceptible to coastal flooding. Katrina filled my house with six feet of water after 22- to 30-foot storm surges. Isaac is bringing surges of six to 12 feet.
Thank goodness there is no six-foot indoor pool this time. Isaac is producing lots of rain and my office, which is less than a mile from the Gulf of Mexico, is losing a roof from the wind with water inside.
The good news is this storm won't rival Camille or Katrina. Or will it? It's unpredictable.
