Ever since the first purported “iPad 5″ leak, there has been speculation surrounding just how much of a redesign the Apple tablet will be going through this fall. A video from YouTube user UnboxTherapy claims to provide more evidence that the next iPad will be smaller than last year’s model. In the video, supposedly redesigned Smart Covers with smaller form factors are attached to the leaked iPad 5 chassis and fit perfectly. Although there is plenty of evidence to support the smaller full-size iPad redesign, 9to5Mac points out that the current Smart Cover embeds the metal hinge within the material of the cover, whereas these Smart Covers appear to leave the metal exposed, which would be an odd step backwards for Apple.
