Marshawn Lynch, one of my favorite players to cover as a Bay Area Prep standout for Oakland Tech (Oakland, Calif.) more than a decade ago, finally had it Thursday with reporters.

Evidently, reporters poked and pecked to get a response other than "I'm just here so I don't get fined," or "You know why I'm here."
On Thursday, according to various reports, Lynch said "All week I done told you all what's up. And for some reason you all come back and do what you did. It don't matter what you all think, what you all say about me. Because when I go home at night, the people I look in the face, my family, that I love, that's all that matters to me."
He opened up and told a huge contingent of reporters he doesn't like how he's portrayed.
"You all shove cameras and microphones down by throat," he said. "I ain't got nothing for you all. You all will sit here doing the same thing. I'm here preparing for a game. … I don't know what story you're trying to get or what image you want to portray me as. You can make up whatever you want."

Lynch, a 5-11, 200-pound back then, rushed for 233 yards, scored six touchdowns in a 55-47 win over Skyline in the Oakland Section finals at the Oakland Coliseum. He finished with 2,097 yards and 33 touchdowns in 10 games that season.
Afterward, in a hilarious bit and stark contrast how he relates to the press now, Lynch promised his offensive linemen a night out at Sizzler.
