So when they get excited about a high school top class, the energy is through the roof.
The MaxPreps dynamic hosting duo went off — in an amazed sort of way — on the 2017 national class in this week’s Court Report. They described, rattled off statistics and measurements, and also humanized the likes of DeAndre Ayton of Balboa City (San Diego) and Troy Brown from Centennial (Las Vegas), plus many more.
That duo — not Poff and Stonebraker, but Ayton and Brown — is the No. 1 and 3 recruits from the sophomore class, according to 247Sports.
Ayton already averages 21 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks per game. The high-flying Brown leads Centennial in virtually every offensive statistical category.

It’s hard to believe they aren’t introducing current college standouts, but instead “kids” who have more than two seasons of high school left.
