The morning cloud cover didn't last long and despite a weak cold front, we still managed to reach 77 degrees. Bakersfield's official rain gauge didn't register a drop but locations like Madera and Merced received around 1/2 an inch of rain. Sacramento collected .65" inches of rain with isolated thunderstorms. We'll see more sunshine as the weekend approaches but strong winds will be a concern in the mountains and deserts with gusts as high as 55 mph in the afternoons through Monday of next week.
