It looks like drivers are finding a benefit to the shutdown of highway 40. Some told news 4 they enjoy extra lanes added to handle more traffic on interstates 44 and 70.

    Two vicious dog attacks were reported in the metro east. In one attack, two pit bulls severely injured a teenager. She has serious lacerations on her leg and arm, a missing tooth and puncture wounds on her chest.

    For the first time since the No Child Left Behind Act went into effect, an elementary school in the Rockwood district has failed to meet one of the standards. Parents who have children attending Ballwin Elementary were given the option of moving to another school in the district.
