Afzal Guru's execution: Omar hopes for normalcy to return in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hopes for normalcy to return to the valley that remains under curfew for the sixth consecutive day in wake of the execution of the Kashmiri militant Afzal Guru who was sentenced to death 10 years ago for an attack on the parliament in 2001. Acknowledging the tense atmosphere in the valley following Guru's execution, Abdullah said that the curfew has severely affected trade and tourism. Abdullah added that a generation of Kashmiris identify with Guru and would continue to condemn his execution.
