As President Obama heads to Africa, he is visiting a continent where U.S. influence is waning, and Chinese influence is growing.On this visit, only Obama's second to Africa since he became president (Xi visited Africa during his first foreign tour as head of state, in March this year), he will be visiting a continent which feels increasingly less beholden to American dictates. Promoted to the role of senior vp, youth & music for Viacom International Media Networks, Kerry Taylor will also oversee non-music-related content for all international MTV services. U.S. economic growth was more tepid than previously estimated in the first quarter, held back by a moderate pace of consumer spending, weak business investment and declining exports. In its final estimate, the Commerce Department said that gross domestic product expanded at a 1.8 percent annual rate.
