Breaking News Headlines: Protests Planned Across Brazil Despite Concessions

by Wochit 1:00 mins

Protests are planned in more than 80 cities across Brazil, a week after the start of massive demonstrations that have sent hundreds of thousands of people into the streets denouncing poor public services and government corruption. Protests that began as an outcry against a 10-cent hike in bus and subway fares in Brazil's largest cities haven't ended with the announcement that the increases would be rescinded. Protest organizers have called for mass demonstrations in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as people express frustration with corruption and what they say are high taxes and poor public services. A couple has filed a lawsuit against a South Florida sports bar where a deck collapsed into Biscayne Bay. A 14-page complaint claims Shuckers Bar & Grill in North Bay Village had a duty to properly maintain its property.
