Carson Daly Finds Out About Poor Heart Health, Colleagues Laugh At Him

On Today, NBC medical contributor Dr. Natalie Azar was discussing heart age with the show's hosts. Put simply, you want to live a lifestyle so that your heart age is the same or less than your actual age. According to NBC, "the average American man's heart is eight years older than his chronological age, and the average U.S. woman's heart is five years older." Today's countless hosts all had their heart ages taken, and fared well, except for one Carson Daly, who might be 42, but has a ticker that clocks in at 44. That ain't good, but his colleagues sure thought it was funny. So, how did Today make sure to take care of one their hosts? By putting the fattiest foods right smack in front of him when they were talking about McDonald's breakfast. Quipped Daly, "Given the fact that my heart is 89-years-old, I'm not going to partake. Very mixed messages this morning...I was lucky I survived the commercial break apparently. And then they put this in front of me. Hey, watch your heart go from 44 to 46 in one segment." Al Roker replied, "I've got a copy of POPStart in case you go down," referencing Daly's pop culture segment.
