CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- About 20 dogs who have lived in filth and squalor in a Stokes County puppy mill are now getting help from the Humane Society of Charlotte. The dogs arrived late Tuesday night and were immediately treated, cleaned and fed. Now the Humane Society will begin the task of getting the dogs into foster care. CONCORD, N.C. -- Race fans got a rare treat today the chance to walk on the actual track at Charlotte motor Speedway. They were also treated to what's called the "World's Largest Cookout". A quarter mile of grills stretched along the infield to feed thousands. Volunteers cooked up hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken for the fans.
