Denied 'Black Protest', Karunanidhi launches 'pamphlet campaign'

DMK chief M Karunanidhi today sarcastically thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha for police denying permission for holding a 'black protest' and said that the alternative plan of door-to-door pamphlet distribution campaign had turned out to be more successful. Launching the pamphlet campaign, Karunanidhi said there was no clarity on police permission for the proposed human chain till the eleventh hour before they declined permission yesterday. Earlier in the day, Karunanidhi along with his party members wore black outfits as a mark of protest against Jayalalitha's 'anti-people policies'.
