Domestic Breaking News: Prosecutors Offer Plea Deal to Accused Cleveland Kidnapper
Ohio prosecutors have offered accused Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro a plea deal to avoid trial on charges he abducted three women and brutalized them over a period of about a decade. A House of Representatives committee advanced a bill to end Saturday delivery of first-class mail and eliminate direct-to-door delivery to help the struggling U.S. Postal Service shave costs. But the plan faces stiff opposition in the Senate. The State Department said The United States would be deeply disappointed if Russia were to allow fugitive former U.S. spy agency contractor Edward Snowden to leave Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport. Snowden, who is wanted by the United States for revealing details of U.S. government intelligence, arrived in Russia on June 23 from Hong Kong, where he had fled to escape capture and trial in the United States on espionage charges.
