Its strange to me how such an abnormal, frivolous, out of touch few can dictate what the masses think is supposed to be attractive, fashionable or what's "in or out." Although these people (fashion industry) may have some sort of talent, what they have dedicated their lives to is really meaningless in the end. They contribute nothing of real value to society, thus their lives have little meaning. It's a shame how silly women empower these people by purchasing their magazines or pouncing on the latest absurd trend such as Uggs, Northface, etc.On the magazines or internet I'll see a statement made by one of these megalomaniacs (who's lives have no real purpose) asserting things like "cargo shorts are out" or some poor actress made a fashion misstep; yet silly women gobble it up as if it were gospel. I have and wear cargo shorts and I'm not treated like a pariah here in the real world. In fact no one has so much as looked at me funny for committing such a fashion "offense.#$%$ on em!

And we wonder why many young girls have eating disorders nowdays!! Not everybody is meant to look like a stick. People come in all shapes and sizes. It would be a pretty boring world out there if everybody looked like a bunch of clones walking around. Why can't people not worry so much about their physical looks and eat healthy and be healthy and happy with themselves. This hits so close to home. My baby sister has had weight problems all her life. She's big and tall. Could stand to lose a little weight, but it's been really hard for her. She's 5'11 and built a lot like the first lady, although she's probably a size or two bigger than Mrs. O. I still think she looks good. People saying big people are all tub of lards and they are what they eat or think they all overeat, well I know that to not always be true. Your metabolism and hormones have A LOT to do with it. I know that watching all that my sister has gone through. She eats pretty healthy and tries to watch what she eats/drinks. She's not a gym rat, but not a couch potato either. She's one of those that could literally starve herself and not lose any weight. She has had thyroid problems since she was young. Had a lot of problems keeping it regulated.. her doctors are constantly having to change her meds. She tries so hard, but for little reward. I know there are a lot of obese people out there that need to lose weight and get healthy, but I don't think a lot of people have a good understanding, when it comes to weight issues or what contributes to it. It's not always because someone is an overeater or constantly stuffing themselves with potato chips and donuts. And for all you people out there saying cruel things, I bet you've got family members who are not perfect sized models either!! People would be surprised if they could see your momma's, sisters, aunts, even girlfriends!! People just shouldn't be so judgemental, because they truely don't know what all a person might be going through with weight issues.

Nope! I'm lucky I been a skinny dude all my life, but I just can't help get mad when I hear people talking crap they don't understand, esp after watching my sis grow up and have a complex because of people like you! And I bet you're a #$%$ fine 10 sitting there typing that. You prolly some little 15 year old squirt with a big mouth! Keep it up though.. somebody someday will shut it for you!

Its because of people like you who lie, and say yes they're perfect (when they're 20 lb over weight) you are merely helping society justify obesity.

So yes, lie to their face, stab them in the back, and tell them they look beautiful just the way they are..

This just shows how our society is in the "all or nothing" type of thinking.

No I am not jealous of that, I would be jealous of Kate Middleton, she does not look ethiopian, or like a skeleton, someone said this is beautiful and indeed if they all gained about 30 pounds they would be beautiful.

We live in a world where they slammed Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson for looking more like a normal woman does. Look at every tabloid at the checkout counter and its just body obsessed. Hollywood has perpetuated this.

Be reasonably fit for your frame is where its at.Many of us men are in love with women of all shapes and sizes.Taking care of yourself and being fun to be with goes a very long way for me versus the concentration camp look.

NEWSFLASH-- We generally want our actresses, models and singers to look better than us, otherwise, if they are not, then they are just like us. Few pay good money to go see people just like them, they can go to the shopping mall and look at all the people just like them for free. Stop complaining. Start exercising. Eat less food. Drink more water. Ta-da!

If this is the new "norm" in modeling, the consumers can send a message to stop buying anything promoted by an unhealthy practice. I had a couple of classmates who were models at 15, over 20 years ago. They were super skinny. The models shown in the videos look like they need medical intervention, not representing a realistic female shape.

modern woman are FAT!! Is it really the models that are doing something wrong with the weight problem people have today??

My ex-wife was not the average woman. She was definitely an overachiever. She gained about 100 pounds so now she is more of a two-fer. You get two women in one, just from a size perspective of course.

Sheeeit son, I have question for the women. Women say its not about the money when dating/relationships ...so why do I NEVER see a supermodel with an average Joe????...please tell me....CAPT AHAB

Zeno's observation: arm / neck ratio a hot looking woman's arms are half the width of her neck. less than half looks not so healthy and a width even to larger than her neck looks less attractive or fat. it's a quick body fat index guide - as your body gains weight equally in your arms and neck. with you arms being able to out girth your neck at a certain body fat percentage.
Ladies start dance or ballet class - because all that exercise: arm & leg lifting, squating and jumping keeps that body fat percentage at the right level.
Men are happy when women look and feel thier best.

What happened to a woman's vanity and glamour magazines to live by? I have a recent copy of a gospel truth glamour magazine and there are no food or beverage ads-- just doo's
eye shadow etc. high heels and fashion accessories-- --yum--

The media fed idea of sexy is a joke. Hell, just walking around the store I see more beautiful women who aren't getting paid to starve themselves. Real women, please.
  • magicpat38  •  4 mths ago
Personally, I like skinny women. If they turn sideways, they disappear, and you don't have to put up with so much crap.
  • ugoboss  •  4 mths ago
models are all too skinny as is, so a few extra pounds won't hurt
