ESA Satellite Captures Two Solar Eclipses From Orbit

The European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-2 minisatellite captured two solar eclipses that plunged northern Europe into gloom on March 20. The best view from Earth could be observed from the Faroe Islands, where the eclipse reached totality at 9:41 GMT. However, viewers on Earth could only see one eclipse. Proba-2, orbiting the planet approximately once every 100 minutes, caught two, as shown in the footage above. Credit: YouTube/European Space Agency
