Russia Denies It, But Images Show Forces Inside Ukraine
It's been a day of escalation in Ukraine, as President Petro Poroshenko declared that “Russian forces have entered" the country and essentially opened a new front in the conflict between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists. Statements from NATO, Poroshenko, separatists, the U.S. and the president of the Security Council left little doubt that Russia has invaded Ukraine. Reporters on the ground in southeastern Ukraine say heavily armed troops in unmarked uniforms have been crossing the border, and there has been heavy shelling over the past three days there. While some reporters call these troops Russian-backed separatists, other news outlets are flat out saying they are from Russia. However, throughout the day, Russia pushed back on the allegations that it had sent troops over the border, as multiple officials issued denials.

Putin's End-Game: Expansion Or Self-Destruction?
'You think I’m not hard enough to invade? You think I care what the West does? You’re wrong. And you need to be afraid, very afraid.' Over the last months the barely credible Ukrainian army has surprised many by pushing back Putin’s proxy forces in the east of the country.
