The judge said, "If I let her go what do I do with the others running loose?" As if there are all kinds of 4.00 GPA honor students, working two jobs and raising kids, "running loose". It seems he has lost all common sense.

ya know I believe education is important, but things like jail for truancy should be reserved for those that miss school so they can go drink or party or play a video game. The judge made the statement "if we let her go what are we going to do let the rest go too?" maybe it is time for this man to step down when he can not see the difference between a young lady working her butt off to take care of her self and her family and going to school, who's life could be ruined over this, and a drunken idiot who does not go to school so he/she can party. Heck working two jobs to support her family it is amazing in this world that she did not quit school all together. She needs to be commended not punished.

Stories like this really tick me off when I think of all the leeches out there sucking off the system, lying, stealing, cheating, doping, drinking, whoring, just anything and everything. And they walk free and get full benefits from Medicaid to do so and judges just let them do what they please. Then you see what is apparently an upstanding young student who has been dealt a tough hand in life that she is trying her best to deal with, and some goofball judge locks her up, if even for a night, it is still on her record and of course will still cost her money. This is so wrong on several levels. Someone needs to step up and help this young lady. She's not asking for it but it is is just the right thing to do. This judge needs to expunge this sentence as well and get it off her record. Come on, Montgomery Co. attornies. There is bound to be one of you who will pitch in Pro Bono and help this lady. Same with employers. Someone could give her one job where she could make enough to support herself and her family and still have time to go to school and study. Like they use to say, a mind is a terrible thing to waste and that is what is about to happen here. This ain't how we do it in Texas. Prove it.

The judge is a complete idiot. I'm a high school counselor - believe me - I can think of about a hundred other students immediately that deserve a night in jail - but working two jobs to help support your family - that's his big "statement" to the rest of the population - idiot.

Her parents are GONE!!! They divorced and left her supporting an older brother in college and a younger sibling, as well as herself. That judge is a jerk. He said "if we let one run loose, do we let another run loose"? Dear God, she isn't running loose. She is trying to be in school, hold down one part time and one full time job. No wonder she is exhausted. And her courses are nearly all college.

The judge is racist. This girl deserves a medal for all she's doing. Her future will be completely ruined because of this rebel, redneck judge. How sad! Hope she finds the help she needs to go on and this judge is punished for his behavior on the bench.
