KTVB reported. Reports cited Lewiston police as saying that Officer Tom Woods was speaking to the driver, identified as Angelia Barnett-Harrell, when he heard a noise from the trunk. Woods asked Barnett-Harrell if her son, Jesse Harrell, a fugitive, was in the trunk. She confirmed he was, police said. She also told Woods, “It’s a toy gun, don’t shoot him.” Police said Woods then called for back up, and noticed the trunk was unlatched. As he went to close it, Jesse Harrell tried to jump out, leading to a struggle between the police officer and Harrell. Officer Woods wrestled what turned out to be a replica gun from Harrell’s hands, and struggled on the ground with him before other police officers arrived and handcuffed the fugitive, KREM reported.
