In Sapporo, Japan, the restaurant Hachikyo respects fish and fisherman so much that before you order their signature dish, tsukko meshi (salmon roe over rice), you have to agree to a set of rules. Like, if you have even one grain of rice leftover in your bowl, you have to donate money to a fund for the local fishermen. Why? The menu claims it's "to show our gratitude and appreciation for the food they provide..." Now, that's a serious meal!
