12 Crazy But True Disney Facts You Never Saw Coming
12 Crazy But True Disney Facts You Never Saw Coming These are a mile past mind-boggling...you have to read to believe! Ursula is actually King Triton's Sister The storyline was dropped from the original movie, and she has simply been banished for trying to take over the throne. Fantasia Was Horribly Racist We give you Sunflower the Centaur, but you can't see her in any current versions of the movie. She was removed from the film almost 30 years after its original release because of racial stereotype. Mickey's Ears Are Always Round, No Matter the Angle In every single cartoon featuring Mickey Mouse, his ears are always drawn facing forward. His head may turn from to side, but the ears stay the same. Disney Protects Their Brand, No Matter The Cost While that's within the company's rights, they came out looking like the bad guy when they ordered several pre-schools/daycares to remove their murals of Disney characters and initially denied a grieving couple's request to use Winnie the Pooh's likeness on their child's gravestone. The Eerie West Wing in Beauty and the Beast when Belle enters the West Wing, we see a bunch of broken furniture that the Beast destroyed. The implication of this is that the Beast actually killed his servants. Yikes. Aladdin is meant to resemble Tom Cruise But it didn't start off the way. Originally, Aladdin's design was based off Michael J. Fox. Apparently, he wasn't "hunky" enough. A Nazi Donald Duck Film Won Best Animated Short In 1943, Disney produced a propaganda piece featuring Donald Duck called "Der Fuehrer's Face." In it, Donald is part of the Nazi workforce and salutes to portraits of the Axis leaders. Spice Girls as the Muses in Hercules File this under, "what could have been." Songwriter Alan Menken wanted to get the Spice Girls to back Meg during the song "I Won't Say." At the time, their schedules were simply to busy to fit this in. The Haunted Mansion Is Full of Human Remains For hardcore Disney enthusiasts, their dying wish is for their ashes to be scattered in a Disney park, but specifically the Haunted Mansion. There Was Supposed To Be A Talking Turkey in Pocahontas Famous actor John Candy would have voiced Redfeather, a turkey intended to be a sidekick to Pocahontas. The raccoon character Meeko is actually Redfeather's substitute. Woody and Buzz's Original Designs in Toy Story Rather than being a windup cowboy doll, Woody was originally imagined as a ventriloquist dummy, while Buzz would have resembled the main character from "Tin Toy," a Pixar short film. No Spaghetti Scene in Lady and The Tramp Walt Disney himself thought that the scene featuring the dogs eating spaghetti together would be too ridiculous for viewers to accept.
