Kurdish Militia Move Trapped Yazidis to Rojava

The Kurdish People’s Protection Unit (commonly known as YPG) helped thousands of the Yazidi population out of hiding on Sinjar Mountain, after they fled militants who captured the town of Sinjar on August 6. Local reports say that up to 70 people of the Yazidi faith have died on the mountain as a result of dehydration and starvation.

The Yazidis were taken to Mahmur refugee camp near to the Kurdish town of Derik in Rojava, where they could be provided with necessary food and medicine.
