Lightning Strikes During Marching Band Performance

Storyful 0:51 mins

Jeffrey King caught quite a dramatic half-time show on tape. During the University High School vs. Boone High School football game in Orlando, Fla., King was filming his daughter Alison, who plays mellophone for the University High School marching band. Toward the end of the show, which coincidentally fell on the evening of Friday, Sept. 13th, a lightning strike startled everyone on the field. Adding to the drama of the moment, the band played on while the football players scrambled off to the sidelines. Just after King turned off his video recorder, it started pouring rain and the band followed the football team's lead. Credit: Alison King.
