Manmohan Singh meets Japanese counterpart, Yoshihiko Noda

Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh today met his Japanese counterpart, Yoshihiko Noda on the sidelines of the 10th ASEAN-India summit in Phnom Penh and discussed the steps to strengthen economic and geo-political relations between the two countries. Singh's meeting with Noda comes only a few days after the governments of India and Japan signed two agreements in Tokyo on Friday. While the first agreement was for cooperation on social security, the second pact signed was a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Atomic Energy of India and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan on cooperation in the rare earths industry in India.
